The first company of Al-Jaber Group was established by the late Mr. Sultan Mohammed Al Jaber in 1976 which initially sold paint and building tools and started taking small maintenance contracts. During the 1980’s the company diversified, increasing its activities to include engineering services. His vision and arduous work resulted in one of the most respected, trusted and fastest growing groups in Qatar; Al-Jaber Group, today the Al-Jaber Group.

The Group, now headed by Mr. Mohammed Sultan Al Jaber has consistently diversified and grown into one of the largest providers of needed products, equipment, manpower and related services to the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, Water & Electricity and Infrastructure sectors in Qatar.

The Late Mr. Sultan Mohammed Al Jaber, founder of Al-Jaber Group, started his career soon after his primary education, working at the Qatar Immigration Department for Dukhan & Mesaieed Region. Based on his performance, skills and dedication towards his work he was promoted as Manager of Qatar Sea Ports.

His first step towards Private Business was Transportation followed by an Audio Recording Studio. His next undertaking was a Civil Consulting Firm which he started in partnership with his friends the Late Mr. Abdullah Noah Al-Mutawa and the Late Mr. Nasir Al-Rayes. This laid the foundation of the Al-Jaber Group.

Mr. Sultan Mohammed J. S. Al Jaber passed away on 11th September 2007 leaving behind pleasant memories and the legacy of the Al-Jaber Group.

On completion of Civil Engineering degree in the United States, Mohammed Sultan Al Jaber, Chairman of the Group, joined his father in 1980. Under his visionary leadership, management and supervision the Group reached new heights and is growing very swiftly, while continuously diversifying its activities and playing a pivotal role in the infrastructure building process in Qatar.

As the company’s operations and range of activities increased, it became necessary for the organization to separate into two individual firms to meet clients’ needs more efficiently. Al-Jaber Trading & Contracting concentrated on building projects while Al-Jaber Engineering Company focused on infrastructure development and engineering projects.

What first began as a single building company has developed into a group of over 70 plus companies, growing from a workforce of 70 people to over 20,000 in 2008.

The Group has consistently diversified and grown into one of the largest providers of needed products, equipment, manpower and related services to the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, Water & Electricity and Infrastructure sectors in Qatar.

As Qatar has prospered and became more focused on the development of the country’s infrastructure, the Group’s volume of workload has increased manifold, creating further opportunities for the Group’s abilities and capabilities to be demonstrated.
